The Best Boozy Advent Calendars (2024)

Advent calendars offer daily treats for the lucky recipient. But if chocolate advent calendars are popular with children and often sell out, you can only imagine how popular boozy advent calendars are with adult drinkers. These modern interpretations of a holiday tradition are highly anticipated and offer everything from whiskey to wine and more. Check out our picks for 2024 or take a look back at the 2023 advent calendar roundup version to see if something there appeals to you even more.

Flaviar Advent 2024

The holy grail of boozy advent calendars, this one sells out quickly, so order as soon as you’re able. Flaviar is a member-driven program where coded samples of whiskey (and other spirits) are sent in themed bundles. Fans can blind taste and explore expressions from all over the world. The company also partners with whiskey labels in the U.S., Scotland and elsewhere to craft exclusive bottlings for members.

But you don’t need to be a member to pick up or gift this fantastic collection of 24 50ml top-shelf whiskey samples (though there is a key card included for a free one-year membership). This year’s calendar boasts a hotel theme with 24 “doors” to open. Each leads to a bottle (no repeats!) with enough liquid for two tastings, exploring single malts, bourbons, ryes, and other whiskies from around the world, along with an interactive tasting guide and two tasting glasses. Can’t snag the advent calendar? Consider the 10-bottle Grilled and Distilled kit ($200) as an abbreviated substitute.
